9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far is a new action-strategy game developed by Petroglyph, set to release on August 26, 2024. As the sequel to the popular 8-Bit series, it enhances the retro real-time strategy experience with larger maps, improved AI, and varied gameplay options, including naval battles and a veteran system that enables players to level up their armies. Players can engage in co-op campaigns or competitive skirmishes with support for up to 8 players, and create their own custom content via Steam Workshop integration.
The game features a variety of new elements, such as mega-structures for base-building, a new challenge mode for daily competitions, and destructible environments that add strategic depth. Players will also find an all-new survival mode where they fend off waves of enemies, as well as the flexibility to create and upload custom maps. The game is designed to be accessible for newcomers while offering depth for seasoned players, continuing the legacy of Petroglyph’s previous RTS titles.
