Colorado has legalized psilocybin therapy for conditions like PTSD and depression, following a 2022 ballot measure. Effective January 1, residents can apply for licenses to administer psilocybin in supervised settings, contrasting with marijuana, which remains decriminalized for personal use. In Colorado Springs, the city council has limited the proximity of therapy centers to one mile from specific locations, prompting local veterans to advocate for the therapy’s potential mental health benefits. Colorado joins Oregon in this initiative, reflecting a growing interest in alternative mental health treatments across the nation.

Genuinely curious… If you have an incredibly safe substance that occurs naturally in nature and is proven to be the most effective treatment bar none for depression, anxiety, PTSD, fear of death for terminally ill patients, etc. etc. and it’s also incredibly cost effective and could save the lives of many, many people, but the leaders of your society refuse to legalize it… what the fuck kind of society are you actually living in?

Cool, maybe they can now focus on having people stop shooting up meth on the sidewalks downtown.
