Honda Unveils Two New ‘0 Series’ Electric Vehicles Set for Production in Ohio

At the CES tech conference in Las Vegas, Honda Motor showcased its latest electric vehicle prototypes, the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV. These vehicles will be produced at a multibillion-dollar facility in Ohio and are slated for North American launch in 2026, starting with the SUV. Both prototypes feature sleek, futuristic designs and are developed under the core principles of “Thin, light and wise,” incorporating feedback from last year’s models to enhance consumer confidence. Additionally, Honda introduced a new vehicle operating system called “Asimo OS,” named after its humanoid robot, which will enable advanced features like hands-free driving. Despite not revealing specifics about pricing, range, or performance, Honda emphasizes the importance of consumer input in product development. The announcement comes as Honda navigates potential impacts from a planned merger with Nissan, while also following a recent tie-up with Sony for a new EV model, AFEELA 1, set to launch in California. As the largest EV market in the U.S., California is a strategic location for automakers eager to meet stringent emissions standards.
