JetBlue to Introduce ‘Junior Mint’ First Class Service on Domestic Flights in 2026

JetBlue Airways plans to introduce domestic first-class seats by 2026 on aircraft lacking its premium Mint class, aiming to attract higher-paying customers and return to profitability. JetBlue’s president, Marty St. George, expressed that the airline is exploring a “mini-Mint” concept for shorter flights to offer more space. This change follows a focus on core markets in Florida and the Northeast after setbacks from blocked acquisitions and antitrust claims. The initiative is expected to boost earnings by $800 million to $900 million over three years. Other airlines, like Alaska Airlines, are similarly enhancing premium seating options.
