Some staff expressed fears of a return to dangerous misinformation, while a minority supported the shift to a user-generated verification system, similar to X’s Community Notes. The debate extended to the new board members, specifically UFC CEO Dana White, whose controversial past sparked discussions about the company’s direction and values. Meta’s previous internal fact-checking initiative was discontinued amid significant layoffs. Employees felt that the removal of critical comments on their internal forum represented a form of corporate censorship.
