Stellantis has unveiled the redesigned 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty trucks, as part of its strategy to counteract three years of declining sales. Significant updates include a refreshed design and a new 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel engine, delivering 430 horsepower and 1,075 foot-pounds of torque, positioning it as a best-in-class option. The new trucks are expected to reach U.S. dealers in the first quarter, starting at $47,560, an increase of about $2,300 from previous models. Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis acknowledged challenges with the rollout of the smaller Ram 1500, which impacted sales, as the brand saw a 19% year-over-year decline in 2024, including a 16% drop in pickup sales. This contrasts with competitors like Ford and Chevrolet, which reported steady sales. The heavy-duty trucks offer two engine choices: the turbo diesel and a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine with 405 horsepower. The lineup for 2025 features various trims, including Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited Longhorn, and Limited. The trucks will be manufactured in Saltillo, Mexico, targeting customers who rely on them for heavy-duty hauling and towing.
