U.S. Unveils $5.9 Billion Military and Financial Assistance Package for Ukraine

In the final weeks of his presidency, Joe Biden announced nearly $6 billion in additional military and budget assistance for Ukraine amid ongoing Russian attacks. This includes $2.5 billion in security aid and $3.4 billion in budget assistance from the Treasury, aimed at supporting Ukraine’s government and military capabilities. With Congress having approved $175 billion in aid since Russia’s invasion, concerns are raised about future support under President-elect Donald Trump, who has suggested reducing U.S. involvement. Biden emphasized the importance of continued aid for Ukraine’s success and its alignment with U.S. national interests.
