Biggie Components has developed a CNC-machined adaptor that allows Yeti bike owners to use SRAM Transmission systems without needing a Universal Derailleur Hanger. This innovative solution enhances compatibility for riders looking to upgrade their drivetrain while maintaining the integrity and performance of their Yeti bikes. Why does everyone call SRAM’s new UDH rear derailleur a “Transmission” now? The entire system of multiple gears has always been a transmission since the 1920’s. Likewise a rear derailleur is still a rear derailleur or if 1x, just a derailleur.
I don’t know if I should be mad that there is this kind of proprietary standards in the industry to be happy and appreciate that it creates opportunities for this kind of innovation.
