At Least 10 Dead After Car Plows Into Crowd on Bourbon Street

In New Orleans, a tragic incident during New Year’s celebrations left at least 10 dead and over 30 injured when a driver rammed into a crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street. The suspect also fired at police officers before dying himself. Authorities are investigating possible improvised explosive devices related to the attack, which Mayor LaToya Cantrell described as a terrorist act. However, an FBI official later suggested it may not be classified as terrorism. Local officials condemned the event, emphasizing the intentional nature of the attack aimed at causing mass casualties. Multiple victims are believed to be locals.
