Frontier Airlines is significantly expanding its service in New York, introducing new routes to major hubs of American Airlines at competitive fares under $20. Starting March 30, the airline will connect New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport with Miami International Airport. A basic roundtrip fare for this route is currently listed at $38, whereas American Airlines is charging $142 for a comparable trip that includes additional amenities like a carry-on bag and snacks. Furthermore, Frontier plans to initiate flights from JFK to Dallas/Fort Worth four times a week, starting April 22, and will launch daily nonstop flights to Los Angeles International Airport on May 1. The airline is optimistic about its growth and aims to return to generating double-digit profit margins by mid-2025. Frontier has seen a 17% increase in its shares since the beginning of the year and has raised its fourth-quarter outlook from breakeven to a 4% pretax margin, reflecting a positive growth trajectory amid its aggressive expansion strategy.
