Mexico is intensifying preparations for potential mass deportations anticipated under President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, which he described as “the largest deportation program in American history.” In response, Mexico is planning to establish seven new shelters in Baja California to accommodate deportees. These facilities will offer health care, psychological support, and reintegration services. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized the country’s commitment to defending its citizens in the U.S. and expressed readiness to welcome those who may be deported.

Additionally, Mexico is launching a mobile app called Botón de Alerta, which will allow detained individuals to communicate with consulates and family members. Sheinbaum affirmed that deportees will only be accepted if they are Mexican citizens, insisting that foreign nationals should be returned to their countries of origin. To enhance legal protection for deportees, Mexico is expanding its consular network by adding staff trained to uphold their rights. Local officials in Tijuana are also exploring the possibility of creating a large central shelter capable of housing up to 5,000 individuals.

From what I am told by my Mexican in laws. Most of the migrants are not Mexican but Central American and even Mexicans hate Hondurans and Guatemalans. So Mexico is doing this begrudgingly

More people came into this country illegally under Biden than at any other point in this country’s history. Homelessness is up 40%. Our government continues to funnel billions overseas while our cities turn into shit holes. This is not ok.

What a waste of tax payers money. Deporting people isn’t gonna fix a fucking thing. Other poor people aren’t the problem

I just don’t get why Mexico lets them through their southern borders if they don’t want that coming back through their northern borders.
