Soldier Who Died in Cybertruck Incident Left Behind Critique of Government, Authorities Report

Matthew Alan Livelsberger, a decorated Army veteran and PTSD sufferer, acknowledged blowing up a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day. In letters found on his phone, he criticized U.S. leadership as “weak” and described the explosion as a “wake-up call” for America, emphasizing societal issues rather than calling it a terrorist act. On leave from the military, Livelsberger drove from Colorado to Las Vegas, and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was known as a patriotic soldier, though his recent political expressions had caused rifts with some peers. Investigations are ongoing.
